Africa Hash 2009 Uganda

Dear All,

Kampala, Uganda, will be the venue for the 2009 Africa Hash.

The event will take start on 1st May, with a fun-packed week-end of Hashing, drinking and socialising.

Kampala Hash House Harriers are planning to make it a week-end you won't forget in a hurry and look forward to showing you some of the "Pearl of Africa". We've got some excellent hotels lined up for you, as well as some interesting and adventurous Trails at such places as the Source of the Nile and the Equator! Pre-ambles are planned for Rwanda and Kenya; there may be others.

The Imperial Royale Hotel is likely to be where most visiting Hashers will stay - we have recently managed to get some good rates for Hashers, so the bulk of the visiting Hashers are likely to be there.

18/3/07 There will be a fantastic beach location near the world famous "Costa do Sol" village and restaurant. Endless sands stretching out to the deserted island of Xefina, mangroves and fishing villages. In short, just another day in Paradise!
Back to Maputo after lunch for the closing ceremony and party at the Hotel Cardoso.

17/3/07 buses pick you up at your hotel and drive to the countryside. Every bus will leave from the hotels and go to the same location, the beautiful Pequenos Lebombos dam. Multiple hashes will be set in the unspoilt bush around the dam, where you can watch crocodiles pee in Maputo’s water supply. Lunch outdoors at the holiday village next to the dam. Back to Maputo for the Gala dinner at the Hotel Cardoso. The theme will be African, with local food and live music.

16/3/07 Registration at the Cardoso Hotel followed by a St Paddy's Eve "Green Dress" run through the monuments and cafes of downtown Maputo. Followed by a St Patrick's party with Guinness, Irish music.

To all of you who have supported me with the welfare work that I do – with sponsorship for 2007 Two Oceans Marathon or donations of money or bric-a-brac etc. – THANK YOU.
If any of you would like to see first hand where the support goes, I am looking for more helpers for the 'spayathon' that I am organising in Khayelitsha on Saturday Feb 9th, so please come and join us.
We are hoping to sterilise 100 (maybe more?) dogs and cats on the day. I have a number of private vets and nurses giving up their time free-of-charge to do the sterilisations, and I have received donations of the necessary drugs from our pharmaceutical companies and veterinary suppliers, but we still need helpers to:
check animals in and record owners' details;
watch animals recover from anaesthetic to ensure they are ok;
collect and return animals for those owners who have no transport – anyone with their own bakkie (or similar) would be very welcome!

It takes less than a minute (How about 20 seconds) to go to their site and click on the purple box "fund food for animals" for free. This doesn't cost you a thing.
Their corporate sponsors/advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate food to abandoned/neglected animals in exchange for advertising.

good day Hashers

Firstly I would like to take this opportunity (excuse the formal speech at work force of habit!) to thank our outgoing Grandmaster, the dishonourable blabbermouth, for leading the mismangement and hash for the past year. A lot of effort by the grandmaster goes unseen and I think it is important that you are all aware that Blabbermouth has put in a lot of time & effort into hash - thank you Anthony (and Leanne of course!)

For those of you not at the weekend away, read Koeksuster's hash trash attached you missed a fantabulous weekend and thank you to everybody who chipped in and helped it is much appreciated.....
